Mérő László matematikus, pszichológus, a magyar tudományos közélet egyik legismertebb alakja. 1968-ban, a Berzsenyi Gimnázium negyedéves hallgatójaként harmadik lett a moszkvai Nemzetközi Matematikai Diákolimpián. Az ELTE matematikus szakán diplomázott, majd 1979-ben műszaki tudományokból doktorált. 1984-ig az Akadémia Számítástechnikai és Automatizálási Kutatóintézetében dolgozott, ezt követően 2005-ig az ELTE Kísérleti Pszichológiai Tanszékén tanított; azóta az ELTE Gazdaságpszichológiai szakcsoportjának egyetemi tanára. A matematika, a logika, a pszichológia, a mesterséges intelligencia és a játékelmélet terén végzett kutatásai mellett számos sikeres ismeretterjesztő könyve jelent meg itthon és külföldön; a Mindenki másképp egyforma című, a racionális gondolkodásról szóló munkáját 1998-ban az év tudományos könyvévé választották Németországban. 1987-ben alapított, saját számítógépes játékokat gyártó cégének összes termékét 2002-ben vásárolta fel a Walt Disney Co.
A pénz biológiája címmel a CreativeMornings_Budapesten Mérő László a gazdaságra vetített evolúciós folyamatokról beszél majd. Úgy véli: a darwini evolúció a gazdaságban is működik, mert a pénz ugyanolyan logikai mechanizmusok alapján hoz létre gazdasági élőlényeket (különféle vállalkozásokat), mint ahogyan a gének biológiai élőlényeket. Ennek a felismerésnek a fényében világunk sok jelensége, például a globalizáció, új értelmet nyer.

László Mérő mathematician, psychologist, one of the best-known Hungarian scientist. As a graduating student of Berzsenyi Dániel High School he was awarded with a Bronze Medal on the Tenth International Mathematical Olympiad in Moscow, 1968. He graduated from Eötvös Loránd University with a degree in Mathematics in 1974, and obtained his doctorate of technology in 1979. Till 1984 he had worked at the Computer and Automation Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, afterwards he was invited to teach at the Experimental Psychology Department of Eötvös Loránd University. Since 2005 he is teaching at the Ecomonic Psychology department of the same university. Besides his research work at the field of mathematics, logics, psychology, artificial intelligence and game theory he published several successful volumes both in Hungary and abroad; one of these, Moral Calculations was recognized as the scientific publication of the year 1998 in Germany. He founded his own company in 1987 specialized on computer games and softvers; in 2002 all of its products were bought by Walt Disney Co.
